Automation 2008, a four day event in the Industrial automation segment was held in Mumbai from 25th to 28th September 2008. The third edition of this prestigious event which is being held once in every two years, has major engineering technology companies participated from vast industry segments comprising of Power, Refining, Petrochemicals, chemicals, Polyester, Life sciences, Food & Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas businesses, Steel and Mining and other process industries, Terminal automation, Tank farm automation, Retail outlet automation.

In today's context of inflation the role of automation is aimed at saving energy and improve efficiency. It becomes even more significant to achieve higher productivity levels by cutting pilferages and inducing timely decisions at functional and operational levels. This has the tacit support of the Government which has been encouraging automation across the industries to ensure growth. Power sector is one of the major sectors which is being actively pursued for automization and IT initiatives to contain losses and make the economics of distribution companies brighter.

Linkwell Telesystems has been associated directly with Power Sector as an end to end solution provider for AMR and through continuous supply of Modems for various utilities. Linkwell Telesystems has also been associated with automation industry indirectly through supply of modems for various applications and also directly through solutions.

Linkwell Telesystems has participated for a second consecutive time in this event and has put on display the Data Products and Data converters being used in the automation industry segment. Also the Solutions on display are Automated Meter Reading using CSD and GPRS Technologies, Solutions for SCADA and Automated applications. Also displayed our newly launched product 82 G D for controlling of external devices through SMS and sending alerts again using SMS.

Solutions and products displayed have been well received and have enquiries from other major segments Petrochemicals, chemicals, Oil & Gas businesses, and Retail outlet automation.
